Tea Thursday

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas (or break if you don’t celebrate)! With my 1 year blogging anniversary coming up next week, I’ve been thinking about where I want to go with this space for the next year. I’ve got some pretty cool things planned that I’ll be talking about in the next few weeks. First, though, I’ve been realizing that I’ve been neglecting the non-knitting areas of my blog. And while I love knitting, I don’t want that to be everything I write about. So, for the next year, I’m going to try to put up more posts about things like food and general crafts. The first thing I’d like to start is a semi-regular post about tea- I drink a ton of it and I love reading about other people’s recipes and reviews. I probably won’t have a Tea Thursday post every week, but I’ll hopefully have one at least every few weeks. Today, I’m talking about a tea that I just tried for the first time.

Twinnings French Vanilla Chai
Final rating: 3/5

I was really excited to try this tea- I love chai and I love vanilla in my teas. This tea is really easy to get and also fairly inexpensive, I’m pretty sure it costs 3.99$ at our local grocery store. I’ve also really liked Twinnings tea in the past (they make a great English Breakfast). That being said, I wasn’t super impressed with this tea. It smells really good when you open the box and it smells great while it’s steeping, but the flavour wasn’t what I expected. It didn’t really taste like Chai tea (I think the spices were lacking a bit) and the vanilla was overpowering and a bit artificial tasting. It’s too bad, because I really loved the idea of vanilla chai! In the future, I think it might just be easier to add a bit of vanilla extract to a chai tea I already enjoy.

I’ll be back later this weekend to talk about my Christmas (and to hopefully get some FO photos up now that the knits have been gifted)! Have a great day!

I guess I should probably say that I’m not affiliated with Twinnings- we bought this tea ourselves. I’m just sharing my obsession with love of tea with you all 🙂
