Snow storm.

Lately, I’ve been…

Knitting // My hat for the mystery hat swap. Since taking these photos the other day, I’ve actually knit the whole body and I’m blocking the hat. Almost ready to send off to my partner!
(Rav link)

Reading // Irene Némirovsky’s Suite Francaise for a class I’m taking. I have such mixed feelings about it. It’s such a beautifully written novel, but so sad.

Loving // The return of the snow. It’s been so cold here but without any snow, and if it’s going to be cold, it might as well be pretty too! We woke up to about a foot of snow on Monday morning… so pretty!

Baking // These muffins from Oh She Glows. They were a bit too banana-y for my taste but H liked them.

Listening // To the new NPR Invisibilia podcast… such fascinating stuff!

Excited for // The return of spring and being able to garden again!

What have you been up to this week?

Linking up with KCCO and Yarn-Along.

That’s too bad! Crossing my fingers for a few flakes for you in the coming weeks!

  1. We have an awful lot of snow here…I think over 4 feet since last week at last count with more on the way for tomorrow! It is beautiful, that is for sure, but it would be nice if the temperature was a little warmer so the kids could go play in it! Below zero just doesn’t work for us 🙂 I’m sorry your book is sad. I am not great at reading sad stories, I tend to either read them over a long period of time with lots of happy books in between, or I have to put them away.

    • No snow here, just love any warm weather. Trying to get well.

      • kyliemw kyliemw

Lucky- I’m starting to get sick enough of winter that I’m ready for some warm weather!
        Hoping you feel better soon!

    • kyliemw kyliemw

That’s funny, because it’s been such a mild winter here in terms of snow. We didn’t have any on the ground for most of January, which I can’t remember happening before.
It’s warmed up a bit here for us today… hoping the warmth heads your way soon!

  2. Gorgeous photos. Look forward to seeing the hat finished. I have reserved Suite Francaise at my library – what is the class you are taking? Have you seen the movie Life Is Beautiful? Oh my, such a wonderful movie, so sad but also so uplifting.

Thanks Joan! Sorry it took me so long to approve your comment- for some reason wordpress thought it was spam.
The class I’m taking is about the Holocaust in literature… I’m fascinated by the way that history informs fiction and vice versa.
I haven’t seen Life is Beautiful… off to look it up now!

  3. Knitting and snowstorms – a perfect combination!

I agree! Hope your week was lovely, Donna 🙂

  4. Send us some snow please!! It’s lie spring here and while I do love springtime, we are missing out on winter. 😛

    • kyliemw kyliemw

I’ll try, but snow doesn’t seem to ship very well cross-border 😛
Crossing my fingers for some snow for you soon… it did look rather spring-like in the photos of C’s lessons recently!

  5. Ine Ine

    Those muffins look delicious!
We’ve got a bit of snow lately, disappearing after two days, then again a tiny bit of snow.
I’m curious about the hat, I didn’t join and actually thinking about what I’ve knit in January, I could have joined. Bummer 😀 I thought it was a really nice KAL.

      Thanks Ine!
I’ll put up some photos of the finished hat once my partner gets it. The swap has been lots of fun, you should join in the next one!

Thanks! The yarn is lovely, it’s from a farm near my parents’ house.

  6. The snow always makes for such a pretty picture. We’ve had one day of proper snow, but lately it’s been just snow that melts as soon as it hits the ground. And it’s always snowing when I bike to/from work, which is very annoying!
