Lately, I’ve been…

Knitting :: The Grace Cardigan by Jane Richmond, in Malabrigo Sock in “boticelli red”. I’ve had this pattern in my queue for ages, and I’m so exited to finally be knitting it. I’ve only got an inch or so left of the lace panels, and then it’s stockinette stitch for miles.

Reading :: Vinyl Cafe Turns the Page, by Stuart McLean, which has been an easy and light read so far. The short stories are perfect for reading on the subway, waiting in line, etc. I’m also a few chapters into The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes, which has been good so far.

Watching :: The X Files… after seeing so many knitters talking about the new series, I had to give it a shot. I love crime shows, so I’ve been enjoying it, but it’s a bit creepy… definitely not for watching alone at night. I also saw Brooklyn at the theatre a few weeks ago and it was a really enjoyable film!

What have you been knitting and reading this week?

Linking up with KCCO and Yarn Along.

  1. The Grace cardigan is a real pretty one. You chose some nice yarn too!

Thanks Donna! This Malabrigo colour is one of my favourites- a nice brick red without being too orange.

  2. I secretly quite like the miles of stockinette!! Lovely pattern and great colour.

Thanks Lucy! It will definitely make for good travel knitting, but I’ll likely cast on something more thought-intensive for at home knitting.

  3. I find “miles” of stockinette relaxing, I am a mindless knitter i must admit. Great color too!

Thanks Eileen! I like having something mindless for travel and when I’m out and about but I prefer something a bit more brain-intensive when I’m home.

  4. very very pretty knitting 🙂 Makes me want to cast on something new 🙂

    • kyliemw kyliemw

Thanks Karen! I’m travelling right now and only brought one project to resist the casting on temptation 🙂

  5. Your Grace will be beautiful. I checked out the pattern and it is perfect – I am sure will be a garment you get so much use from. I like the look of the construction too. Hope those X files aren’t spooking you out too much – I am totally the same, I think I can only watch nature programs on my own – everything else I need my husband’s arm to hide behind!

Thanks Tania! Yes- Grace is a lovely design and the pattern is skillfully written. I have loved all of Jane’s patterns I have knit.
Hoping you’re enjoying whatever you’re watching (with your husband’s hiding help) 🙂
