Lately, I’ve been…

Knitting :: My red brick cardigan, which is coming along well but slowly. I just haven’t had that much time for knitting this week, and the sock yarn and small needles makes for a rather leisurely pace. Makes for good TV / podcast knitting though!

Reading :: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou. I had never read this, and it seemed like an important one – it is, and her writing is so captivating. I’ll have more to say about it when I’ve finished the book.

Enjoying :: This beautiful weather! Although today wasn’t very sunny, it was lovely and warm! And tomorrow’s supposed to be even warmer. I took these pictures on the balcony, no coat or shoes! It’s a March miracle!

Listening :: To the new CBC podcast, Someone Knows Something. I love the ads I’ve been seeing for it, and the concept, so I was really excited about it… but stories about missing kids aren’t my favourite. I’m only about halfway through the first episode, though, so I’m going to give it another few and cross my fingers that it wins me over.

What have you been knitting and reading this week?

Linking up with Yarn Along and KCCO.

P.S. I nearly forgot to say – Happy International Women’s Day!

I’m loving that brick red! I have a fingering weight cardigan on the needles now too, and they just go so slowly! I’ve not yet read I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, but I’ve read all of Maya Angelou’s essays, and they’ve had such a tremendous impact on me.

Thanks Kat! I haven’t read any of Maya Angelou’s essays, I am going to see if the library has them to read after this. Thanks for the recommendation. And wishing you perseverance in your fingering weight cardi 🙂

  2. What a great color! Your photos show off the yarn beautifully!

Thanks Alina! I hope you’ve had lots of time for knitting and some lovely weather this week!

  3. I love the color too! And fingering weight sweaters are the best.

Thanks Jeannine! And yes – they take so long to knit, but it’s worth it because they are so wearable!

  4. That is going to be a real pretty cardigan – the sock yarn will slow you down for a bit but it will well worth it at the end!

  5. Oh what a gorgeous colour – it must be so much fun to knit with 🙂

  6. I totally <3 this Botticelli Red. I need to remember this colourway name so if I'm ever in a yarn store, I'll hunt for it. I haven't been knitting which I just posted about today; I'm in a funk. I am reading though this fabulous, food memoir! I love it.

  7. The cardigan is looking beautiful! I remember the first time I read /I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings/ — it was life-changing.

  8. beautiful yarn 🙂 lovely shade that is quite pretty!

  9. Your pictures are always beautiful. I love the cat picture in your latest post and your knitting pictures are great but perhaps that’s because your cardigan looks so gorgeous. That’s some stamina required though!

Thanks for your kind words, Tania! I hope you’ve had lots of time for knitting this past weekend.
(And Lyra – the cat – says thank you too!)
